Every week a cart filled with tea and cookies is wheeled to a hospital unit by the Spiritual Care staff to provide an opportunity for the clinical staff to have a brief moment to have a cookie and a cup of tea and to gather their wits amidst some of the most chaotic and desperate moments of caring for critically ill children. The Spiritual Care staff provide moments for the clinical staff to refuel their stomachs and their souls for what lies ahead.
Please help keep the Tea for the Soul cart stocked with homemade cookies [CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP]. The doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and chaplains at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles truly benefit from the calming and soothing ritual that Tea for the Soul provides. The Spiritual Care Guild is committed to providing the Spiritual Care Department with 8 dozen homemade cookies each week. Please choose a date(s) below to assist in this important SCG activity. For the week(s) you select, please deliver 4 dozen homemade cookies to CHLA. Cookies should be packaged in gallon sized Ziploc bags. Prior to arrriving at CHLA with your cookies, please call Abel in the Spiritual Care Department, at 323-361-2482. Someone from the office will meet you in the hospital lobby to receive your cookies. In addition, if you are unable to deliver your cookies to CHLA, SCG member drives down to CHLA every Monday. She is happy to deliver any cookies that are dropped off at her home on Mondays, prior to 11:00 a.m. Thank you in advance for contributing to this special ministry of SCG.
